 To give our guests the best golf vacation in Tampa Bay, we hired the best designer. Born in 1947, Dan Maples was brought up in a family whose roots in golf course construction reach back to the 19th century. The Maples family, since Dan's great grandfather James, has been involved with golf either as professionals, superintendents, builders or architects. After receiving his bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture in 1972 from the University of Georgia, Dan went on to be a club pro for two years before joining his father in course design and construction. Since then, Dan has become on of the most successful golf course architects in America, having designed and constructed 17 of the country’s most respected courses
